Abstract

Reducing energy consumption in solar greenhouses and the efficient use of renewable energy sources are important current issues. In this study, a mathematical model of a ground source heat pump (GSHP) heating system was developed and its thermal-energy performance was analyzed. Based on the calculation results, the optimal system parameters and its energy efficiency were evaluated.

In the study, a schematic diagram of a GSHP heating system for a solar greenhouse was developed, and the heat transfer processes were modeled using differential equations. Heat propagation in the soil medium was considered in cylindrical coordinates and numerical calculations were carried out. The calculations considered the thermophysical properties of the soil and the maximum heating load of the greenhouse.

According to the results, the heat flux per unit pipe length was 21.4 W/m. The maximum heating load of the solar greenhouse was 15.12 kW, and under real operating conditions with COP=4.0, the required pipe length was approximately 530 m. The electrical power consumed by the GSHP compressor was 3.78 kW, indicating the high energy efficiency of the proposed system.

The results of the study showed that the use of GSHP systems in solar greenhouses is an energy-saving and environmentally efficient solution. The developed mathematical model is an effective tool for determining the optimal parameters of the heating system and evaluating its energy efficiency.
