Abstract
The article examines the role and significance of government policy in promoting youth employment from both theoretical and practical perspectives. A comparative analysis of the key labor market indicators of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Kashkadarya Region for 2021–2025 is conducted, including the employment rate, unemployment among men and women, and the unemployment rate among young people aged 15–24. The findings indicate that government programs and mechanisms such as the “Youth Register” and the “Mahallabay Ishlash” (community-based employment) initiative have contributed to reducing unemployment. The article also highlights ongoing reforms aimed at further reducing the overall youth unemployment rate. Scientific and practical recommendations are developed to increase youth employment, taking into account the socio-economic characteristics of Kashkadarya Region.
