Abstract
The article analyzes Uzbekistan’s innovation development based on Global Innovation Index (GII) data together with national statistics. The study relies on the approaches of national innovation systems, absorptive capacity, and the “innovation paradox.” In 2020-2026, Uzbekistan rose from 93rd to 77th place in the GII, showing stable positive dynamics. At the same time, the innovation output sub-index score (19.2) is lower than the input sub-index score (38.2).
