Abstract
The article examines the ecosystem model of a commercial bank as a form of business organisation in the digital economy. The fundamental differences between the ecosystem model and the classical banking model are substantiated, three types of ecosystem management architecture are systematised, and criteria for choosing between them are proposed. Based on the two largest ecosystems of Uzbekistan — Uzum and TBC Uzbekistan — it is established that the ecosystem model delivers substantially higher returns per unit of loan portfolio: TBC Uzbekistan, holding 1.89% of the sector’s loan portfolio, generates 4.3% of its net profit, which is 2.28 times above the average. At the same time, the key risk of the model is identified: lending growth outpacing the deposit base (a ratio of 170.7% against 149.4% for the sector).
