Abstract

The article examines the improvement of price data collection and processing systems for consumer price index compilation on the basis of digital technologies. The limitations of traditional statistical observation, the advantages of mobile devices and electronic questionnaires, and the possibilities of integrating alternative sources such as scanner data, administrative databases, electronic transactions and web scraping are analyzed. The study shows that centralized processing, multi-stage validation and audit trails increase the accuracy, timeliness and comparability of the consumer price index.
